In 2023, a visionary named Greg, along with his cycling comrades from Tempo Cycling, set out on a mission to fulfill a dream—one that transcended personal achievements and embraced a collective vision of giving back to the community. The result? The birth of The Tempo Project which became Bikes 4 Kids NC. Little did they know that their shared passion for cycling would ignite a spark that would spread rapidly through the local community.
At the core of Bikes 4 Kids NC is the belief that every child deserves the simple joy of owning a bicycle. We understand that a bike is not just a mode of transportation; it symbolizes freedom, empowerment, and the pure exhilaration of childhood. In our inaugural year, thanks to the overwhelming support from the community, we proudly donated 75 bikes to local kids during the holiday season. In year two we more than doubled the number of bikes donated to 165! We are on track to exceed 200 in our third year. It is a testament to the power of collective action and the generosity that resides within our community.
The resonance of our cause was felt far and wide, as the community rallied around us with open hearts and outstretched hands. Volunteers, local businesses, and community leaders joined forces with Bikes 4 Kids NC, forming a powerful alliance committed to making a difference. Year one was a resounding success, but it was only the beginning.
The need is evident, with over 400 requests pouring in from local families during the last holiday season alone. The desire to bring joy to more kids and make a lasting impact is the driving force behind our ongoing efforts.
